Understanding and extending AutoCorrect
Word uses AutoCorrect to correct common typing mistakes, automatically correcting a host of errors and saving you valuable editing time. Word provides a list of standard corrections for typical errors, but you can also add words you commonly misspell.
For example … AutoCorrect changes teh to the; changes achieve to achieve; ensures that names of days start with a capital letter; corrects two initial capitals typed accidentally; and changes character sequences to symbols, e.g. type (c) and it is automatically changed to ©, type (tm) and it is changed to ™.
